Throughout 2023 & 2024.

Exciting and amazing results from the pilot programme.

Our Four participants engaged in a range of therapies – Sound therapy, Emotional Freedom therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal Family System informed therapy and trauma informed yoga over 8 weeks. All participants had significant improvements with marked reductions in symptoms.

The Participant Experience

Participant One:

Participant Two:

Participant One had extremely severe anxiety, stress, and severe depression as they started the programme. Halfway through the programme these symptoms had reduced to mild levels of anxiety and stress and no depression.  At the end of the programme, they had no anxiety or depression and only mild stress. After one year they still had no anxiety, and only mild stress and depression. We found the programme brought them significant benefits, and these mainly persisted as after a year they still felt much better than before they started the programme.

"I am much more regulated than ever before and have been given the tools to soothe myself instead of letting my feelings and emotions rule my life. I have loved every second of the programme and feel it is so beneficial to anyone."

Participant Two had extremely severe anxiety, moderate stress and mild depression as they started the programme. Halfway through the programme their symptoms had reduced to mild levels of anxiety and no depression or increased stress. Although their anxiety symptoms had increased at the end of the programme, they did not have any depression or increased stress. After a year they still had no depression, but their stress was at a mild level and anxiety was still severe. There were difficulties they were contenting with, and this appears to be contributing to the anxiety levels but there were still significant improvements for this participant.

"I have found that I have a better understanding of the way I feel about myself and the difficult feelings I experience. I have a more compassionate outlook on myself and am not as hard on myself as I once was. I feel more balanced in my thoughts and feelings and have more positive thoughts."

Participant Three:

Participant Four:

Participant Three started the programme with moderate depression, no anxiety and mild stress.  Halfway through the programme their stress had moved to a normal level and at the end of the programme the depression had become mild. After a year they did not have depression, anxiety or stress, so the programme really helped this participant move to a non-symptomatic life.

"Overall, I have been well, I find I can communicate a lot better about my feelings, and be less of a people pleaser."

Participant Four started the programme with severe anxiety and stress and mild levels of depression, by halfway through the programme she had no more depression, anxiety or stress symptoms and this stayed like this right through to a year after the programme.

"I have really enjoyed being able to take part in the pilot programme. It was really important to me that I felt as though I could relax and be myself while receiving the therapies, and each therapist made it so easy to do that. This allowed me to open up and truly begin to heal without fear of judgement. Before the programme I felt I had no purpose in life or belief in myself, I didn't understand why I was here other than being a mum & wife. I was just surviving. Since finishing the programme, I feel capable, I have a new sense of empowerment. I feel like I belong & have a new understanding of myself and that has all been huge for me. For the first time in a very long time, I feel excited and happy to be alive."

Another area we assessed was resilience – ability to cope with life’s challenges.

For all participants this improved through the programme and even after a year the scores for resilience, as measured by the Sense of Coherence questionnaire, were greater for all, than before they started the programme.
These very positive results confirm that the programme we provided does have a significant and lasting positive result for all participants.
